Here at Cooker Spare Parts, we have a fantastic range of spare parts for your gas cooker, and we like to think we can be relied on to find the perfect spare part to get your appliance back to full working order as quickly as possible.

There are many more parts inside your cooker than you even begin to imagine! To ensure your cooker is working properly, all of these parts must be fully functioning to allow you to cook with no interruptions and perhaps more importantly, cook with no safety issues. Below we will discuss what a flame failure device and thermocouples do when they are attached to your cooker, and why they are so important in allowing you to use your gas cooker safely?

So what do both parts do when they are attached to your cooker, and why are they important? Let’s start with the flame failure device or as it is also commonly referred to, the FFD. A flame failure device is responsible for shutting off the gas supply in your cooker if the flame is extinguished for any reason. So the reasons why it is an important safety mechanism are very clear, as it ensures the gas supply in your appliance is cut off safely when the flame is extinguished.

Now let’s move on to a thermocouple. Again it performs a similar function to an FFD, but in a slightly different way. The thermocouple on your gas cooker is responsible for closing the gas valve to help prevent gas leaks. So you can agree that both parts are an important in terms of keeping you and your appliance safe, whether it is being used or not.

If you have any doubts over the functionality of either your flame failure device or thermocouple, simply visit the FFD and Thermocouples section of our website here to browse our vast range of gas cooker spares!

Did you realise that if you have a faulty oven door seal, it could be costing you money when it comes to your utility bills? This is because the cooker door seal is designed to help keep hot air in the oven cavity, so if your current door seal is no longer doing this, it may mean you will have to keep your oven on for longer, which in turn will lead to higher utility bills! If you have a damaged door seal, there may be much needed hot air escaping from your oven cavity. So not only will your cooking be disrupted, it will also add to the cost of running your appliance, which we don’t want to happen!

If you haven’t already gathered, oven door seals are rather important parts when it comes to your cooker operating efficiently. It also acts as a buffer when you are opening and closing the cooker door, stopping any exposed glass and metal from making contact with each other. So if your current oven door seal has been attached to your cooker door for many years, it may start to become loose and this will cause it to not fit properly, therefore not forming a secure seal around the edge of your cooker door.

A cooker door seal comes in many forms, it can 3 or 4 sided, and can be attached to your cooker door by hooks that come with the part or small clips that are already attached to the seal itself. Once attached to your cooker door, you will notice a significant difference in the performance of your cooker.

If you need a new cooker door seal for your appliance, don’t hold off any longer! Take a look at our fantastic range of cooker door seals here, suitable for many appliances including Cannon, New World, Parkinson Cowan and Stoves, plus many more!

If you own a fan oven, you will appreciate how important the oven fan motor is when it comes to keeping your oven cavity well ventilated.

You may not be able to see the inner workings of your fan oven, but the oven motor that circulates the warm air is more important than you think! So if you have a noisy fan oven and are wondering what is wrong with it, the chances are that you will need to replace the oven motor.

If the fan in your oven isn't working properly, there is a danger of your appliance overheating. This is not only bad for the oven, but it may also cause damage to other important parts of your cooker, such as the fan oven element. If the oven motor isn't distributing the warm air around the cavity, the fan oven element could burn out, which will have a major impact on how you cook your food.

So if you have been experiencing problems with the oven fan that is currently attached to your cooker, visit the motors and fans section of our website to see the full range of fan oven motors that we stock!

You may think that the cooker knobs on your appliance are simple, ineffective parts, but you couldn't be further from the truth. These tiny parts are crucial in giving you full control over the many functions on your cooker.

So why are these parts so important? Well, each of the control knobs on your appliance will be responsible for controlling a different thing. For instance, on a normal cooker, you will have a control knob for each of the burners/hotplates, for each oven cavity, and maybe even one for the cooker ignition. So if they no longer work, you will be unable to use a particular function on your appliance.

There are many ways in which these parts can become damaged. The most common reason being that part of the control knob breaks off meaning it may no longer fit on to your cooker. Some cooker knobs can melt due to exposure to excess heat, but if you find yourself in this position, the chances are that you will need a new oven door seal to help keep more of the warm air in the oven cavity.

Luckily, here at cooker spare parts we stock a wide range of control knobs, fitting many brand names including Belling, New World, Stoves and many more. To see our full range of cooker control knobs, simply visit the control knobs section on our website!
